Ambra Senatore D'altro canto, ph: Bastien Capela
With an intense presence, supported by a fine dramaturgical construction, Ambra Senatore offers a moment of great impact. She touches on serious themes, leaving room for playfulness and a sense of humour.
This work, presented here for the first time, arises from questions about the human condition, about connections with people and places, about roots and uprooting. Throughout the creative process, influenced by the socio-political context and shared with the women and men who come into the room to observe, discuss, and participate, the work is nourished by multiple events and stories. On stage, in real time dialogue with the musician Solène Le Thiec as director, many different existences pass through Ambra Senatore, in body and in voice, but with common traits, of which she bears traces.

workshop by Ambra Senatore
Like the creative process, the workshop is an experience of shared discovery; an initial phase of improvisation invites us to let ourselves be carried away by what emerges from the encounter with the space and with others, without looking for good ideas or the «right» forms. In a state of openness and listening, we welcome what happens, we surprise ourselves. This is then followed by some kinds of games, with rules to be invented, followed, bent, or broken. All the work is based on relationships, mutual respect, and the desire not to plan ahead and to suspend judgement as much as possible. In Ambra Senatore’s approach, shared joy emerges as an affirmation of life, a goal to be achieved, but also as a way of building together while caring for one another. This idea permeates Senatore’s work, which explores the collective and relationships. The everyday is "observed under the microscope", moved, turned upside down. Her compositions, made up of surprises, cuts, repetitions and leaps in time, bring to mind cinema and its language.
The workshop is open to all, no particular dance experience is required, just a willingness to participate and let go.
Ambra Senatore - trained with, among others, R. Castello, R. Giordano and G. Rossi, with whom she collaborated as a performer. Between 2004 and 2009 she created and performed solos. Subsequently, through group work, she developed an approach that fuses dance and theatre, playing on the boundaries between reality and fiction. She creates enigmatic compositions, engaging directly with the audience, bearers of a profound humanity. She creates for the stage and for different spaces. Having led the National Choreographic Centre of Nantes (CCNN) from 2016 to 2025, Ambra Senatore perceives dance as a means of sharing, mutual discovery and social connection.
