A distant land, almost out of reach. A community of sixteen hunters and ninety-two dogs spread out over nine huts in the most uninhabitable part of Greenland. Unbridled nature. Vast empty spaces. Adventurous challenges, unlikely friendships, atypical learning experiences. Fearless heroes but with a thousand weaknesses. This is the world of stories by Jørn Riel, Danish anthropologist and researcher, creator of the polar saga that inspired Circolo Popolare Artico.
From a myriad of interwoven tales, which speak of an uncontaminated land, of solitude and friendship, of love and common sense in the absence of laws, Gli Omini continue to experiment with new writings. After readings in the woods and three episodes of the Circle, the company has decided to address younger audiences to compose a hymn to the power of the imagination together with those who understand it best; children. To take them to a distant island, free of every rule already known, and abandon themselves to the unpredictable, to face loneliness together with a group of corpulent and very tender big men. To remember that nature possesses resources that we ignore. And to celebrate a melting earth.
Two arctic hunters will introduce themselves to the audience and tell stories about their lives and how they cope with dark times. These two men, who have never taken part in the course of the world, smelly and dirty, but with generous souls, will talk about the importance of appreciating the smallest things, without wasting anything. They will talk about the crises they overcame only with the help of friends. They will see bears, roosters, walruses, and Inuit. And they will try to convey the saving power of stocking up on compelling stories to pass the time when storms force you to stay at home, and to learn to push the horizon.
