Being aware of our own mortality makes our remaining time more precious. Nevertheless, we rarely reflect on our own end. Being aware of life’s fugacity means preparing to let go of what we hold dear and reflecting on what will remain of us, appreciating our present.

Our passage in this world leaves obvious signs: objects, relationships, images, memories. After/Dopo is a pathway where visitors are invited to leave intimate traces of themselves anonymously, creating, through this journey, a space for sharing and reflection. A participatory and site-specific project born from the need to investigate the relationship with the only absolute certainty in the life of each one of us; the end of existence.

The first step of the After/Dopo pathway has one condition: for the entire duration, imagine that you are no longer there. Visitors are free to stay for as long as they wish, choose what signs to leave behind, and to decide when to leave. The activities they will encounter are simple: answer questions, sketch a map of their relationships, leave a message. The traces left behind will be just as simple; made of pieces of paper, stones and writings, which together will create an installation.
