Saneamento básico, o filme

2014 Saneamento basico

A small community of descendants of Italian immigrants in the state of Rio Grande do Sul try to solve the problems of basic sanitation that plague their village. They find out the municipality does not have funds for sewage treatment, but plenty of that for filmmaking. Even though they have never made a movie before, they decide to make a horror film about a monster that springs up from the polluted waters, hoping to earn enough money for both the film and the sewage works. What seems to be a naive comedy is in fact a poetic tale full of unexpected discoveries.

Edificio Royal

2014 Edificio Royal

Edificio Royal used to be a prestigious address in damp Barranquilla, but things have gone out of control. Zolia, a middle-aged woman, and the building super follow the advices of a TV psychic. Julio, a mortician, has argued with a customer and has to keep a corpse in his living room, to his wife's dismay. Meanwhile, the elderly Graciela strives to keep her husband's illusions and keeps a portrait of Tom Cruise to talk him into believing that's his son, an air force pilot. Anything can happen in this decadent building, where everyday life is simply absurd.

Jorge Perugorría, Beatriz Camargo, Fabio Restrepo
